On Tuesday 21 June, Year 7, as part of their Humanities Project Based Learning, had a Medieval Experience Day. King Henry II and his knight, William Marshal, came along to show the students about life in 13th Century England.
The students quizzed King Henry II about his family, his life, and about his relationship with Thomas Beckett. Did he really mean to have the Archbishop murdered?
They learnt from Sir William Marshal about being a knight. They tried on armour, and even learnt some sword skills in Knight School.
In the afternoon, the hall was filled with their very own Medieval Market. The Year 7 had created everything from bashing the plague rat and medieval weapons, to stalls with medieval food, town planning, and even a fashion boutique!
